Whereas Thunderbird is made for handling many at once. Gmail and Outlook aren’t built to accommodate a bunch of email addresses, a few will probably be fine. Thunderbird – Image Credit (Trusted Reviews)Īdmittedly, this function does exist in rivals but it’s what Thunderbird is good at. One caveat, Mozilla Thunderbird doesn’t provide you with an email address so you’ll be using a combination of existing ones. The main benefit of Thunderbird is how it seamlessly weaves your different email addresses together into one piece of software. Mozilla does have the in-development K-9 Mail app, which will act as an Android version of Thunderbird in the future.īuy now Thunderbird is about bringing all your emails together You can’t access it in a browser or on a smartphone. ![]() The lack of a modern slant is also highlighted by Thunderbird being tied to desktop operating systems. Admittedly, it’s been updated quite a bit but there are lots of visual similarities with our 2007 review of Mozilla Thunderbird 2, as it was known. Yes, it sports some interesting features but it looks like it’s from 10-20 years ago. Mozilla Thunderbird is quite the opposite. ![]() There are some additional features for those wanting more customisation but it’s largely about a carefree user experience. It looks clean, simple and is relatively easy to use. Google’s Gmail is almost synonymous with modern email. Here’s how these two email services stack up against each other. However, if your email life involves a bit more complexity, Mozilla Thunderbird is an email platform that may suit some of your more specific needs. Both Google and Microsoft have honed a streamlined email experience. If email is all about simplicity for you, Google’s Gmail is probably the right way to go. Like Thunderbird, Firefox is alternative to the mainstream options from Microsoft and Google. You may or may not have heard of Firefox, Mozilla’s browser and most popular product. Google’s Gmail is a straightforward pick but, for those with multiple email addresses, Thunderbird is worth considering. ![]() That alternative is Mozilla’s Thunderbird. Gmail is the go-to for many, but there’s an interesting alternative.

![]() mRNA is the minimal genetic vector therefore, anti-vector immunity is avoided, and mRNA vaccines can be administered repeatedly. Efficient in vivo delivery can be achieved by formulating mRNA into carrier molecules, allowing rapid uptake and expression in the cytoplasm (reviewed in REFS 10, 11). ![]() Second, efficacy: various modifications make mRNA more stable and highly translatable 9, 12, 13. The inherent immunogenicity of the mRNA can be down-modulated to further increase the safety profile 9, 12, 13. Additionally, mRNA is degraded by normal cellular processes, and its in vivo half-life can be regulated through the use of various modifications and delivery methods 9– 12. First, safety: as mRNA is a non-infectious, non-integrating platform, there is no potential risk of infection or insertional mutagenesis. The use of mRNA has several beneficial features over subunit, killed and live attenuated virus, as well as DNA-based vaccines. Over the past decade, major technological innovation and research investment have enabled mRNA to become a promising therapeutic tool in the fields of vaccine development and protein replacement therapy. Instead, the field pursued DNA-based and protein-based therapeutic approaches 7, 8. However, these early promising results did not lead to substantial investment in developing mRNA therapeutics, largely owing to concerns associated with mRNA instability, high innate immunogenicity and inefficient in vivo delivery. A subsequent study in 1992 demonstrated that administration of vasopressin-encoding mRNA in the hypothalamus could elicit a physiological response in rats 6. The first report of the successful use of in vitro transcribed (IVT) mRNA in animals was published in 1990, when reporter gene mRNAs were injected into mice and protein production was detected 5. Nucleic acid therapeutics have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional vaccine approaches. The development of more potent and versatile vaccine platforms is therefore urgently needed. Finally, conventional vaccine approaches may not be applicable to non-infectious diseases, such as cancer. Moreover, for most emerging virus vaccines, the main obstacle is not the effectiveness of conventional approaches but the need for more rapid development and large-scale deployment. Despite this success, there remain major hurdles to vaccine development against a variety of infectious pathogens, especially those better able to evade the adaptive immune response 4. Conventional vaccine approaches, such as live attenuated and inactivated pathogens and subunit vaccines, provide durable protection against a variety of dangerous diseases 3. As a result of widespread vaccine use, the smallpox virus has been completely eradicated and the incidence of polio, measles and other childhood diseases has been drastically reduced around the world 2. Vaccines prevent many millions of illnesses and save numerous lives every year 1. ![]() ![]() It’s possible that this coincides with the global rollout of this mega update. The next arrival of a brand new Mega Pokémon is scheduled for next Friday, April 29, 2022. The announcement videos for the update also offered some teasers of Mega Evolutions that may be coming to the game soon: the cries of Mega Latias and Mega Latios can be heard in the background, while Mega Kangaskhan’s silhouette can be seen. ![]() Here’s what we know about how the system will work. All Mega Evolved Pokmon will now have a Mega Level, and Mega Evolving a Pokmon will help increase its Mega Level. Step 2: Walk with your buddy to earn Candy and Mega Energy as rewards. Overall, the community seems to be excited to try the new Mega Evolution system in Pokémon GO now that grinding for Mega Energy will no longer be required. The Mega Evolution update adds a new levelling system to Mega Evolution. Here's how it works: Step 1: Select the Pokmon you want to earn Mega Energy for as your Buddy. In addition to these changes, the difficulty of Mega Raids is reduced, making it easier to get Mega Energy, and you’ll be able to perform Mega Evolutions directly on the preparation screen for Raid battles – a nifty QoL change. This affects how Pokmon evolve, as well as how Raids will work moving forward. Niantic just released a major update for Pokmon GO, including a mega change: Mega Evolution. This energy cost steadily decreases over time – after about three days, only half the original investment is needed. Published Pokmon GO introduced Mega Evolution in the new update. It costs 40 energy to immediately prepare a Pokémon for another Mega Evolution. You may reduce this time by raising the mega level or the use of Mega Energy. After that, any repeated evolution is free, but there is a cooldown period before it will be available again. This is related to the second major change of the update: Mega Energy, which you currently still need for every Mega Evolution, will now only be required for the very first Mega Evolution of a Pokémon. You’ll note the above benefit of a cooldown reduction. Users there estimate that it will take a minimum of 30 days of constant Mega Evolutions to upgrade the mega level of one species to the maximum. Cooldown reduction for future Mega Evolutions.Ī Pokémon’s mega level can only be increased once per day, according to experiences from users in Australia and New Zealand, where the update has already gone live in a field test.Increased experience points when catching Pokémon of the same type.Increased chance of XL candies when catching Pokémon of the same type. These include already existing benefits, such as receiving bonus candies when catching monsters of the same type while a Mega Evo is active, as well as providing bonus damage in raids. The higher you push this, the greater bonuses future evolutions will offer you. If you perform Mega Evolutions in the future, this action will increase that particular species’ mega level. That said, it won’t stop you from smiling while you watch your friends experience it for the first time. The longer you play, the darker things turn. These moments (the game rewards them as “memories” to be captured for this experiment) are often short-lived or formulaic to the point where you won’t likely repeat them. On the other hand, once I figured out how to get the right colored fish while fishing, the game was over shortly thereafter. Similarly, the puzzles can be downright head scratching. The moments where the game lets you be free are the most rewarding. I had somebody ask me for a “hot cup of fluid” - I gave him a steaming mug of hot sauce. Some of the games are more “one and done” and others give you the freedom to go completely nuts. If I had a complaint (and it’d be a very minor one), it’d be that the collection of minigames in Vacation Simulator range widely in replayability. I discovered this right before I put the little gun on a machine that will make anything (and I mean ANYTHING) into a shrub to be planted in your own personal garden via a minigame. A quick pull on the shell reveals that the crabs are “plugged in” to their shells not unlike a power plug. I managed to earn a hermit crab buddy early on in my adventures. With Owlchemy labs planning to release the game not only on Vive, but also Oculus Rift and PSVR (other VR platforms are planned for the future), Vacation Simulator is made as a stationary experience. ![]() Some bots will tell “scary” stories (which are all about power outages and programming errors) while you prepare s’mores and hotdogs, and others will demand that you make them a lubricant-latte to help take the edge off the chilly mountain air. (Happy little accidents are more than likely here.) This mechanic gives you a reason to visit with the eager bots in each vacation area. There’s also “Bob Moss” who will teach you how to paint, and a kindly grandma-bot who will teach you to knit. One of the things I enjoyed most about Vacation Simulator is that each area has some sort of food or beverage preparation minigame. I say vacations as you’ll have a chance to explore the beautiful beaches, dense forests, and Yeti-filled mountains, each with their own delightful robot inhabitants and tons of fun VR puzzles. With a quick bath (complete with rubber duckie and bubbles), a change of clothes, and your backpack ready, it’s time to finally set out on the vacations of your dreams. ![]() As such, yYour travel agent is already waiting for you, leaving you to zip around the house as you finish up your final packing details. If you have no idea why I’m talking this way, then you’ll probably want to check out the three videos below, each of which showcases the three vacation zones in the game.
